Eva-Mari provides therapy services for teenagers, adults, and couples. Her therapeutic approach is firmly grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Eva-Mari was born and raised in Sweden but lived, studied, and worked in the U.S. for 16 years. While there, she earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work with an emphasis on children and families. During this time, she also completed mediation training through CDR Associates in Boulder CO and subsequently co-facilitated mediator trainings.

Eva-Mari’s continuing education as a therapist includes Level 1 training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (steg 1) from KBT i Utvecking in Uppsala. e has also taken classes in Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing. She is a certified instructor in Medical yoga (Mediyoga) and Yin yoga (level 1).

Her years spent abroad, and subsequent return to Sweden have given her insight into some of the practical and emotional challenges of relocating to a new country. As a therapist, she has created solid working relationships with many people from around the world who have had trouble acclimatizing to life here in Stockholm.

In addition to being a therapist, Eva-Mari has worked as a counselor in both the public and private school systems, as a course instructor, program and project manager, and public speaker. Since 2010 she has been a member of the advisory board for The International Journal of School Social Work, and she is a member of APA (American Psychological Association).
